Having started in historical reenactments, Freya has been a part of the costuming world since 2005. Her characters have been inspired by everything from the iron age of Vikings, through the Tudors, the French aristocracy, the golden age of piracy, popular fantasy, and more recently the pages of everyone’s favorite comic books.
Known for her flamboyant portrayals and attention to detail, Freya has traveled as an entertainer and personality all along the eastern seaboard, working for festivals, charities, conventions, performance troops and artists.
The progression into costuming was only natural given Freya’s lifelong propensity for and love of the odd, interesting, avant-garde and unique styles. Some costumes have been inspired from a pattern of fabric rather than an already existing character; some are taken right from history or popular culture. Each role she embodies is one that expresses her own personality in some way, giving her the ability to bring them all to life.
